Relevant national standards for rubber seals include "Rubber - Recommendations on manufacturing quality of sealing rings for pipe joints - Classification and categories of defects" (GB/T 17604-1998), which is equivalent to the international standard ISO 9691:1992. "Rubber Seals - Sealing rings for water supply, drainage and sewage pipes - Material Specification" (GB/T 21873-2008) has been revised to adopt the international standard ISO 4633:2002 and will soon be completely replaced by GB/T 21873-2025.
In addition, the standard system also includes "Rubber Seals - Sealing rings for pipe joints of 110℃ hot water supply pipes - Material Specification" (GB/T 27572-2011/2025) and "Rubber Seals - Sealing rings for water supply, drainage and sewage pipes - Material Specification" (HG/T 3091-2000), etc. These standards are mainly managed by the Sealing Products Subcommittee of the National Technical Committee on Standardization of Rubber and Rubber Products (TC35SC3).
