Product Introduction
Nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR) has been the standard elastomer for petroleum-fluid sealing for decades. The reason is straightforward: it resists mineral oils, hydraulic fluids, fuels, and water-based media reliably and at a material cost that no comparable compound matches. A nitrile valve core - NBR permanently bonded to a machined metal substrate - brings that combination of oil resistance and mechanical integrity to flow-control components in hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, and general industrial service.

NBR is not a single material. Acrylonitrile (ACN) content, typically between 18% and 50%, determines where the compound sits between maximum oil resistance and maximum low-temperature flexibility. Introduction to Performance
Operating temperature: −40℃ to +70℃. Special low-temperature formulations extend service to −50℃.
Media compatibility: Mineral hydraulic oils (HM, HV grades), gear oils, diesel and gasoline (including standard ethanol blends), water and water-glycol solutions, compressed air and inert gases. NBR is not recommended for ketones, chlorinated solvents, concentrated aromatic hydrocarbons, or ozone exposure.
Mechanical properties: Tensile strength 10–20 MPa; Shore A hardness 50–90, with 60–85 Shore A typical for valve core applications. Compression set below 25% after 70 hours at 100℃ (ASTM D395) ensures sustained sealing force across operating cycles.

Introduction to Processing Techniques and Materials
NBR compounds are formulated to grade: ACN content is selected against the application's oil-swell and low-temperature requirements.
Metal substrates are CNC-machined and surface treated to bonding-grade surface roughness. Compression molding cure parameters - temperature, dwell time - are documented per batch. Finished components are pulling-tested. Bond failure mode must be cohesive rubber fracture; adhesive interface separation is a reject condition.
