Rubber diaphragms are characterized by high reliability, good compatibility, long service life, and low cost. They are mainly used in valves, regulating valves, automatic mechanical follow-up devices, switches, and counters for flow, pressure, differential, level, and constant-temperature volumetric thermal compensation.
Based on their structure, rubber diaphragms can be mainly divided into pure rubber diaphragms, fabric-reinforced diaphragms, metal composite diaphragms, and flat diaphragms. Pure rubber diaphragms have a uniform, elastic, all-rubber construction. Fabric-reinforced diaphragms are made by sandwiching rubber with strong fabrics such as nylon, polyester, or aramid; however, in low-pressure operations, the force they generate may become redundant. Metal composite diaphragms combine rubber and metal layers.
Based on their shape or application, rubber diaphragms can be classified into disc diaphragms, corrugated diaphragms, rolling diaphragms, flat diaphragms, and conjugate diaphragms.
