Valve Core Functions And Types

The primary function of a valve core is to control the flow rate, direction, and pressure of a fluid. When the valve is open, the valve core separates from the valve seat, allowing fluid to pass through; when the valve is closed, the valve core engages with the valve seat, preventing fluid flow. Additionally, some valves regulate fluid flow by adjusting the valve core, such as controlling the valve opening to regulate pressure or flow rate.

 

Valve cores come in many types, categorized by their structure, application, and actuation method. Examples include the ball valve core of a ball valve, the wedge valve core of a gate valve, and the plug valve core of a globe valve. Different types of valve cores are suitable for different working conditions and fluid media, each with its own unique advantages and applicable characteristics.
