The operating environment - mineral or synthetic hydraulic oil, cyclic pressure loading, elevated temperature in loaded circuits, and often high actuation frequency - defines a set of requirements that the valve core compound and construction must meet simultaneously: oil resistance, thermal stability, low compression set, and bond integrity under dynamic loading.

 

NBR is the standard compound for hydraulic valve cores in systems operating below 80°C. HNBR is the correct selection for systems operating continuously above 100°C or in applications with elevated abrasion or fatigue loading at any temperature.

Hydraulic valve cores are high-precision components where dimensional consistency across production batches determines system performance repeatability. Hardness variation, seal land geometry, and surface finish at the sealing face must be controlled to tolerance, not simply to specification limits, across every production run.

 

Compound formulation for hydraulic service emphasizes low compression set - the property that determines whether the valve core maintains its sealing geometry and seating force after sustained loading. Cure state is the primary variable. Cure parameters are documented and controlled per batch, and compression set is measured on production rubber samples, not assumed from formulation data alone.

 

Bond integrity under cyclic hydraulic pressure loading is verified by pulling testing. The bond interface demanding high quality of metal treatment and molding process control.
