Product Introduction
Sealing reliability at sub-zero temperatures is a distinct engineering challenge. Standard elastomers stiffen as temperature decreases; below each compound's glass transition temperature, the rubber loses elasticity and the sealing contact force drops below the level required to maintain a leak-free interface. Low temperature resistant valve cores use compounds specifically formulated to retain elastic compliance at operating temperatures that would cause standard grades to harden and fail.
We manufacture low temperature resistant valve cores in NBR (to −50°C with special formulations), HNBR (to −40°C), fluorosilicone (to −50°C), and polyurethane (to −40°C). Compound selection for each application depends on the medium, the minimum operating temperature, and the chemical environment.

Introduction to Processing Techniques and Materials
Low-temperature performance is achieved through compound formulation, not post-processing.
All low-temperature resistant valve cores are cold-flexibility validated by TR10/Tg testing. Parts destined for arctic or cryogenic-adjacent service are tested at the specified minimum operating temperature before shipment.
Typical Applications
Typical Applications for Low Temperature Resistant Valve Core include:
Arctic oil and gas production wellhead and gathering valves
Cold-climate outdoor pneumatic and hydraulic control systems
Cryogenic plant auxiliary valve assemblies
Refrigeration system control valves (industrial and commercial)
Advantages
A valve core rated to −40°C on a datasheet and a valve core that maintains sealing integrity at −40°C in your specific installation are not the same thing. The difference lies in compound formulation, cold-flexibility testing, and the absence of design shortcuts.
At TGE, we characterize the cold performance of our low-temperature valve cores at the compound level, test parts at the target minimum temperature, and provide test data. Where standard grades fall short, we reformulate.
FAQ
Q: What is the temperature that your rubber-metal bonded valve core can be used for?
A: The temperature can usually be -50℃. Even lower application can also be met by our special designed rubber formulation.
Q: Where have your products (low temperature rubber-metal bonded valves) been used, for how long?
A: Through our world famous customer, our low temperature rubber-metal bonded valves cores have been used by global customers from Asia to Europe in the past 10 years, and have gained high reputation by reliable quality.
Q: Are you a manufacturer or trade company? Where are you?
A: We are manufacturer and our factory is located in Tianjin, China. We can design the rubber formulation, we can design the product structure, we have all the manufacturing and testing equipment in our factory (such as mixer, sand blasting, vulcanizing, rheometer, Mooney test machine, tensile test machine, low-temperature brittleness test machine, stiffness test machine, etc.).
